Western offshore in India can be considered to comprise of Shale/Carbonate alternations, Shale/Sandstone alternations and Shale/Claystone alternations. There are major thief zones which are challenging to control. A major operator has drilled nearly 20 wells in this area using this LCM. The material has shown immense promise, and has been shown in some cases to reduce losses from the tune of 200bbl/hr to 30bbl/hr, 150bbl/hr to nil, Total Losses to 30bbl/hr.
